Pinterest Challenge- World Nutella Day

Standard

Firstly I must say a big thank you to you fab people out there who organise the pinterest challenge, I missed you and I am really really pleased to see you back! I hope that doesn’t make me sound totally sad! So I have got around to making something for this months challenge and I waited until today on purpose because I had read somewhere that today was World Nutella Day. I had pinned a recipe for Nutella cakes so decided that I would make them today and it would not only be my pinterest entry but would also double as pudding for tonight’s tea.

So in the space above there should be a lovely picture of the original ones made in individual tray bake tins but for some reason my computer doesn’t want to let you see it, you will have to make do with my effort instead.

Had another go at putting in the original pinterest photo and today my computer is playing along so here is the photo from pinterest.

For world Nutella day

The recipe is

4 oz sugar mixed up with 4 oz nutella, 2 eggs, 60 ml milk and a teaspoon vanilla essence. you then add 4 oz SR flour.

Here is the mixture in progress, I was a bit worried because it was exceptionally runny.

I then put it into a 24 hole mini muffin tin

They baked for about 10 mins at 175.

Here are the finished results. I haven’t put icing sugar on the top as suggested because my kids aren’t keen on it. My friend has just tasted one and said they are not overly nutellaly! So I might cut them in half and sandwich back together with the Nutella too for a double whammy!

Not that I am trying to get extra points here as I am fully aware this is not a competition but I do think I should get extra brownie points for not trying one myself, new year, new diet still going strong!

So I shall end with a Happy Nutella Day greeting to you all and happy crafting x

December pinaddicts challenge part 1

Standard

I can’t believe that tomorrow is New Year’s Eve. I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I was very lucky and got several crafty/sewing presents which I will write about in the new year. Where has this year gone. So much for my intentions to make more of this blog and post more often. Perhaps it will be a New Years resolution to make it a bit more interesting.Anyway it is now going to be a mad dash to get my pin addicts entry in before closing.

here is a picture of what I am going to attempt to make.

the recipe is quite simple

450g ground almonds

450g icing sugar

4 egg whites

Mix all ingredients together and then heat through in a pan until hot. Remove from the heat and place the dough in cling film in the fridge overnight.

next day roll the dough into rings to fill the 18 circles on the tin moulds. Bake for about 12 mins until golden.

I guess you could do the rings freehand if you don’t have the tin, but I got mine in the sale from Lakeland, one of my favourite non sewing shops! Below is the 18 rings ready to be assembled tomorrow. I will post again with hopefully a photo of the finished article if it isn’t a complete disaster.

YES the local shop had some oreos in so I have been able to make my pinterest challenge project today. It is doubling up as pudding for tonight so I had to photograph them quickly as once the children get in from school I don’t know if they will make it as far as tea time.

I decided to make the oreo chocolate chip sandwich cookies from the recipe board on my pinterest boards – www.pinterest.com/stitchnmusic

oreo heaven

This is the original from the website.

I had a bit of difficulty as the recipe was in american measurements and wonder if mine have turned out more like pancakes because I converted a measurement wrong somewhere along the way.

This is my version:

They do taste fantastic though, and who cares what they look like once they have been chewed anyway!!

Really looking forward to seeing what everyone else makes again this time.
